1U Rackmount Enclosure Solution
The 1U rackmount server enclosure EJ-1U453-C is of the EIA RS-310C 19” Rackmount Standard. It features only a 17.7” depth but this space-saving small chassis allows you to have all the basic necessities of a full size case. This 1U chassis supports an ATX motherboard up to 12” x 9.6” and accommodates a 1U single power supply. It also contains 1 x 5.25”, 1 x 3.5” FDD and 1 x 3.5” HDD drive bays. The pre-installed cooling fans serve well in this case to draw and exhaust air, 2 of the fans (40x20mm = 7CPM ea.) were oriented on the front panel as intake fans and 3 of them (40x10mm) on the side panel as exhaust fans. As the height of the 1U rackmount chassis is only 1.75”, the original I/O shield that comes with the motherboard will not fit correctly in any of the 1U chassis. Based on the Intel DQ965GF motherboard information that was provided from one of our clients, we were able to develop a 1U I/O shield solution that meets the criteria and accommodate the back panel connectors for this DQ965GF motherboard in the EJ-1U453-C chassis very well. Besides that, the 1U rackmount chassis must also provide enough clearance to accommodate a low-profile 1U CPU heatsink fan on the motherboard. With response to the case height restraint, the EJ-1U453-C comes equipped with very short standoffs (5mm) for the motherboard mounting and this allows maximum clearance (about 35mm) between the top of the motherboard and the lid of the case.
